How I Got 700 Unique Visitors Last Month?
I know I have been lazy posting on my blog. I had set a goal to get 1000 visitors a month on this blog and in Sep I had failed miserable. But I never stopped promoting my blog and am seeing good results for Oct and this month so far.
I will soon be posting more regularly on the blog - just have been distracted by few other projects going in parallel.
Lets take a look at some of my results:

As you can see the traffic has improved on my blog. What I have seen is that in last 2 months there has been more search engine traffic then referal traffic, which is a huge step in the direction I wanted to go in.
One of my traffic sources was search engines for repeated long term consistent traffic. Based on analytics my blog is now getting traffic for multiple keywords and not just the two keywords I had targeted.
I plan to make a post on different startegies I have been following to get this boost in search engine rankings. Let me know what you think about this.
Never Give Up Even When Goals Fail?
I haven’t posted for a while on my blog about where I stand with my traffic goals. Sorry, but I was little distracted with a few personal things last few days.
Well lets skip the why BS 
The bottom line is I failed miserably in achieving my traffic goal of 1000 visitors by end on September. I only reached there half way. But all effort is not waste
One of my main strategies was to rank (SEO) for some keywords in search engines. Although I haven’t made it to the top yet I am very close with 1st page rankings for few and 2nd page rankings for few keywords.
I believe if I continue my SEO efforts I will be able to achieve my goals soon. Couple of keywords I am targeting should bring about 30 to 40 visitors per day.

Backlinking Strategies that Work
After giving up on Yahoo Answers I decided to focus my attention on forum posts and blog comments to help my search engine rankings.
Based on my Analytics account screen shot below I think I am on track to meet my traffic goals. Click on the image to see a larger view. As you can see in month of August I have received 295 visitors at an average of 10 unique visitors per day. Most of my traffic currently is from referring sites.
My traffic sources are blog comments and forum posts. One of my goals is to get link juice from referring sites along with traffic.
As of now I am ranking in top 50 for my main keyword “how to make quick money” on Google. If you see there are approximately 147 million search results for this keyword. I still have a month to make it to page 1 of Google for this keyword.
If you check this keyword using Google keyword research tool you will notice there are more than 8000 searches per month for this keyword with match type “Exact”.
If Google is even half accurate with its keyword tool then I should be able to meet my goal of 1000 unique visitors in September by making it to top 3 in Google for my target keyword.
Do you think it is possible to achieve top 3 ranking for this keyword in Google?
I will be moving on to my next traffic strategy in the meantime. There is still lot of work to be done
Why Yahoo Answers Failed?
This post is in continuation to my traffic goals. Last week I experimented with Yahoo Answers and found that the links on my answers are all no-follow. This is a lack of research on my part. I should have known about this before adding it to my plan for link building.
Don’t get me wrong, yahoo answers can be an excellent source of traffic by itself. But my current goal is to get top search engine ranking for a specific keyword. I had planned to generate some link juice using Yahoo Answers. But since all links are no-follow I have decided to not use Yahoo Answers at the moment.
Having said that I found a good post on 2 other services which are clones of yahoo answers and are do-follow.

I will soon try out these services but in the mean time I have moved on to my next strategy which I will make a post on soon.

Steps to First 1000
This post is in continuation to my post traffic goals for this blog. My goal is to generate 1000 unique visitors to my blog by end of Sep 2009.
Today I want to talk about 2 strategies I will be using to start with to achieve the goal.
- SEO
- Yahoo Answers
SEO Strategy:
I have identified a keyword in make money niche that I will be targeting to rank my blog for. This keyword is very competitive and has intial search competition of 114000 in google. Also based on google keyword research tool the search volume for this keyword with exact match is 8000.
This looks like a good keyword to target for my blogs search engine rankings. If I can rank in top 10 of google for this keyword I should be able to reach very close to my traffic goal if not pass it.
Yahoo Answers:
I plan to use Yahoo Answers for 2 reasons: quality back links and at the same time targetted traffic. Yahoo Answers is one place where people ask questions for specific problems they have. I plan to contribute to this community with quality to the point answers.
The answers when to the point and helpful can generate some targetted traffic to your site. To start with you are allowed to answer max 20 questions in a day. You acquire points as you answer questions. When you reach a certain level by acquiring points you are allowed to answer unlimited questions.
Summary:
- Target a keyword for SEO
- Yahoo Answers for targetted traffic
I don’t want to reveal the keyword I will be targeting as it can give away my main keyword and also create unnecessary competition for my promotions.

Short Term Goal for My Blog
After weeks of hard work I have finally got this blog up and running. New domain, new blog, new theme, fresh content.
I plan to publicly share my goals and steps taken to reach my goals on this blog. If you wish you can follow me on my way to a profitable blog.

After 2 weeks of hard work, I finally got this blog up and running. New domain name, new look, and a whole new feel vibe.
I have run successful money making blogs in niche markets. This is my first attempt to build a blog for a long term sustainable business.
I haven’t planned an all out assault yet for this blog. I plan to start slow. My initial goal is to get 1000 unique visitors to this blog by end of Sep 2009.
That’s it for now. I am going to log off and go for a walk. When back I will work on some planning to reach my 1st goal. My deadline in Sep 2009. That only gives me under 2 months to achieve my goal.
That may look like a lot of time but I will be doing this with my 9 to 5 (supposed to be) full time job. Wish me luck
Let the List Building Begin
As part of my 6 proven online income model videos I have revealed to you some on my success with affiliate marketing anf site selling business models with live case studies.
As you can see from the videos I already had success with these few online make money models. I now plan to work on List Building model to build my own list in make money niche.
As they say, money is in the responsive list. You list is your asset.
My first step will be to get free traffic to my site. I plan to work on free traffic generation methods next few weeks to get visitors to my site. Once I have the traffic flowing in I will then work on opt in conversions.
But my first step is traffic. I plan to post my plan and results here so check back for updates.
